The Dollhouse Project at a Glance
A Distinct Identity
The Dollhouse Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2019 by Detective Timara Craven.
The organization was created from a simple yet powerful belief that real change begins with action, not just words. Detective Craven recognized that when creativity meets opportunity, young girls can imagine and achieve lives far beyond their circumstances.
The Dollhouse Project partners with communities to inspire confidence and creativity in girls through the symbolic and literal gift of dollhouses — a space to dream, design, and build without limits. What began as a small act of hope has grown into a mission to promote brighter futures, encourage imagination, and expand possibilities.
Detective Craven, who grew up in a low-income neighborhood, shares this same vision.
Her journey serves as a living example of what it means to rise above circumstance and help others do the same. Together, our team works to remove barriers that prevent girls and families from accessing the quality of life they deserve. Why Dollhouses?
Did you know that a child's environment has a significant impact on their cognitive development? There are numerous studies that shows, the benefit of playing with a dollhouse. It increases social skills, emotional intelligence, spatial awareness, INCREASES IMAGINATION, fine motor skills and more. These abilities can be sustained throughout adulthood. It is our hope that girls can develop their own environments to improve their cognitive development, thus improving their chances of success in the future.
